Nia King is a queer, mixed-race artist and activist who has been writing zines for over 12 years. While many of her earlier zines (such as MXD and Angry Black-White Girl) were focused on mixed-race identity, many of her more recent zines (such as When the White Man Gives You Money and Constantly Coming Out) are interview-based or about trying to make a living as a creative queer person of color. She has been hosting and producing We Want the Airwaves podcast since 2013, and has two self-published books out based on the podcast, Queer & Trans Artists of Color: Stories of Some of Our Lives (published in 2014, co-edited by Jessica Glennon-Zukoff and Terra Mikalson) and Queer & Trans Artists of Color, Volume 2 (published in 2016, co-edited by Elena Rose).
